iPad No Image | No Backlight

At first glance the iPad seems like a no power issue. Since the iPad shows nothing on the screen it could actually be just a display problem.  One of the things that can cause an iPad to lose it’s backlight could water damage, a cheap screen with exposed solder joints at the backlight flex, shorted backlight circuit which can be caused by using metal tools when the iPad is under power.

At times the iPad can have the backlight on, but show no image.  Remember the backlight circuit is separate from the LCD and digitizer (touch). No image is most often caused by a tool or fingernail damage

We can differentiate a display problem from no power problem easily by connecting the phone to the computer which will tell us if the iPad powers on or no.  If the iPad is recognized by iTunes for example, it’s on, but you may have a display or it needs an update. If the iPad is not recognized, and we don’t see it pulling a healthy amp draw with an amp meter then we will have to diagnose further.
